Welcome to NoLotteryArkansas.com, Arkansas Committee for Ethics Policy's (ACEP) 2008 campaign against an Arkansas state lottery.

This is the home for ACEP's 2008 campaign to defeat the initiative for a proposed constitutional amendment to establish a state lottery for Arkansas.

Our Goal
We will attempt to keep Arkansas free of a lottery. We must not allow our state government to become an economic predator of its weakest citizens.

Our Methods
From the numerous successful campaigns we've led against gambling initiatives over the last two decades, it is clear that in order to accomplish this goal we must effectively motivate, mobilize, and enable a substantial grass roots network.

Our History
This battle is not new to Arkansas. On at least five occasions in the last twenty years, constitutional amendments to establish state lotteries have been proposed. Often these initiatives have included casino gambling as well. In each of these, we have successfully led the opposition to those measures, prevailing in either the state supreme court or in state wide elections.
